Middle of November

So, I JUMPED right back into the blogging world with two feet, or so I thought until today when I remembered I hadn't been on here since the middle of October.

Life has been a little crazy.  I again am busy making Christmas presents for people that need certain presents.  So, this past weekend I was working on a quilt, for a lady from my church and I also am working on a set of dish towels for another friend.  I am not sure when I am going to get my own presents done.

The weekend went faster, then fast....and I am struggling with today being Monday.   Anybody else missing their bed today????/

Week recap....it is what it is! LIFE

What a crazy week!!!!!!  Today is my Friday though.  I leave at 1 p.m. to head to MN to see my family, pets and friends.  BEYOND PUMPED!!!

This week it was my Dad's birthday and Bryson's birthday.  I haven't been home since the beginning of August and I am soooo excited to see everyone, but especially to see Bry-my "Baby Bubba" who turned one.  He is getting so big!!!

I am also excited to see the lake.  Sounds silly to some maybe, but I grew up on that lake and it is the best place on earth.  It makes me giddy to think that tomorrow morning it will be me, my beasts, a cup of coffee and the view of the lake.

I am taking a Ford Edge home that is FULL, and I MEAN FULL of toddler jungle gyms, toys and bouncing zebras....that boy is SPOILED!!!!

Yesterday I bought a table and chairs off of the garage sale page.  Cannot wait to show pics with that when I am done with it.  I also picked up some plant stands this week.  I am looking forward to transforming all my finds in the future.

Wow, there are endless books to read on food...

Part-time I am a librarian...I love the library.  I do part-time programming for YOUTH ages 4th grade and up.  It is so chillax for the most part and I get to meet people and interact with patrons.  LOVE iIT!!!  There are times that it is WILD at the library, but for the most part it's all good.

I love reading-"well dah"  I am not like "read all the time" kinda girl cause well I am just too busy, but I have been kind of obsessed with reading food books, non-fiction of course.  This past year I have read 52 Loaves by William Alexander, Julie and Julia by Julie Powell, Cleaving by Julie Powell, In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan, Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollen, Food Police by Jayson Lusk...and the list just keeps going.  All of these books have been fantastic.  I have taken little bits of information from all of them.  And, then I keep eating donuts...haha!  It is hard to change habits, and loves....food that you grew up with.  I just keep trying to add more, and more veggies to everything I cook.

If you haven't been to your public library lately, go...we love you!!! We love seeing your face walk in the door and helping you explore new topics and loves...there are so many services that the library offers and sometimes it is just the most peaceful place to go and just be...

How about you-what have you read lately?  What's your favorite thing about books, or the library?

Hello Peoples!!!!
So....I am BACK!!!! and I haven't written in soooooooooo long and my life has changed in soooo many ways, but it is good.  I have grown and evolved and things are good, did I mention that I have changed, and things are GOOD!!!!!

I no longer teach-"what???? back the truck up" you say...that's right.  I was offered a position with Oahe Speedway as the Communications Coordinator and after much stress, thinking and hemming and hawing....I decided to take it and change my WHOLE life...just like that.

Do I miss the little chickies that were my babes...you betchya!! I still get my kiddo fix at Rawlins Public Library doing Youth Programming, at Faith Lutheran Church teaching Midweek I have 17-18 little kids, and at the track there is a little "tribe" of Junior Racers that sometimes drive me a little crazy, but I love them like none other....

So, this is short and sweet, but I am glad to be back....and share a little bit of the good, the bad, and the ever evoling in my life.

Love ya,
Jess

Winter Break

I get almost 4 weeks off for Christmas.... last year I didn't come home to see my family until the 23rd. This year I decided that I was going to spend most of my time at home. So far, so good. I am keeping busy doing jobs around the house.

Lucky Charms

Okay, so I am a HUGE dork! I haven't been able to sleep, nothing tastes good, I feel like crap. So Saturday I meandering through Wal-mart and there it is. 17 ounces of Lucky Charm goodness. I have not had Lucky Charms since High School and that was a LONG time ago. So I look around like I am doing something illegal and then I throw them in my basket. I swung by the milk and picked up a gallon of 1%. I have been eating Lucky Charms for every meal since Saturday. Do I feel bad??? Nope. I LOVE them!!! After this week I am sure I will be sick of them but it is a great feeling to be a kid again.

friends

Growing up I never had many friends. I knew everyone, but I was a homebody. I didn't like to go out. Then I made some friends in High School and I followed them to college. I am too nice and I let them take advantage of me. When I moved to SD I was too nice too. I never had a truly good friend. Now at the age of 31 I have finally made two "good" friends after I went through four years of hell.

This last year I had to deal with people who didn't like me and made my life at work a living hell. I have never had this experience before. It has made me more guarded and less open. It has made me think about every thing I say before it comes out of my mouth. At times it made me cry and at times it made me laugh. I have learned a lot from these unfriendly, less then professional individuals.
